Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home that has a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home revenue won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for nsfas 2025 the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing nsfas application of their application.
